I skipped the Exile bit, but it was interesting to read that John now thinks that perhaps he should have done another series of Life on Mars.

I'm glad he didn't, though. LoM is just fine as it is.

Thank god someone agrees with me on that:). It was pretty damn perfect and just the right length. I think he was right to trust his instincts:).

Yes, his instincts seem to be pretty good. :)

It's been almost a year since I watched LoM for the first time, and I'm currently on my sixth rewatch. I love that series so much.

I can't even rewatch LoM that much because I don't want to overwatch it and learn it by heart--I want to keep it as fresh and as precious as it was for me at the start:). It's just so, so good. Definitely the best television series of its decade. And John's acting is a major part of it. I was screencapping it the other day and I am always pulled in by his expressions and his eyes--the way you can see something happening behind those eyes, the way you see a hundred emotions flitting across his face in a matter of seconds... it makes screencapping hard because his expression changes all the time. It's amazing what he can do with his acting. I've rarely seen anyone who can do emotion in such a real and palpable and heartbreaking way. He is just amazing.
