Gonna be working on finishing up some coloring today, but figured I would post the pencils I did for a section of a cover I'm designing for a proposal.
Thanks. I decided to scan it in to preserve the pencils, just in case I fuck up the painting. Not really too worried about that though as I'm so excited about working on it I see it as a reward for finishing the coloring work I'm finishing right now.
damn it John, please don't tell me you're using Times New Roman for the Devil in the Grape logo. I've been sitting here in Illustrator trying to comp up the words and Times New Roman seems to be the closest fit to what you've got.
Also it seems like the words are "floating" more on the logo instead of being part of it. Try printing out the type, tracing over it by hand and scanning it in, if you're trying to give it that "hand drawn" feel. Right now it contrasts with the grapes.
Sorry for the sudden critique outburst. It just is what I sees.
