When I read your first line, I thought 'Wow, she sure does understand the American male...' but now I'm sure this sort of thing transcends borders and affects every male, regardless of their country or sport. I mean, American guys and football are just ridiculous. They paint their stomachs and play fantasy football, where they draft football players and get ridiculously into games. Oh, they're exactly the same (although they tend to favour painted faces, I think - it's a bit nippy to get your chest out). My friends run a fantasy football league, which means I'm not actually allowed to ring them until Saturday night, for fear they'll miss some vital result or other and the world'll stop spinning.

Mr Bracknell, however, knows less about football than I do, which is one of the reasons I picked him.

Well, to be honest, American men paint their chests and watch outdoor games in the coldest states in the country - were it's near-freezing and snowing - but you know, I'm sure the beer helps keep them warm ;)

My boyfriend knows less about football - and most sports - than I do, which is nice, so I totally understand ;)

Oh, you're lucky on that one. Unfortunately, all the other halves I ever had have been obsessed with sport in one form or another. With one it was a weekly occurence that I became a rugby widow... If he wasn't watching it he was playing it, and often spent Sunday nursing injuries and begging me to have sympathy for him...
