Here in SE Michigan, things are pretty grim.  Chrysler has sold itself to Fiat ("Fix it again, Tony") and GM is in bankruptcy.  Summer is slow in coming; it's rainy and maybe getting up to a high of 67 today.  So the early summer crops are delayed.  They say strawberries are about 3 weeks late, which then creates difficulties for farmers who rely

As dark as things sometimes get, it's easy to lose track of the little things that retain their light. I hope this new pact helps you maintain something closer to equilibrium while the world seemingly goes to pieces around us.

I was encouraged by the strong turnout in Iran, and by the number of women voters. I was very pleased to see the opposition candidate campaigning with his wife visible and vocal at his side. Perhaps the Iranian people truly are ready for a more inclusive world view, and perhaps we can finally stop hating each other and start to rely on our common humanity to keep us from blowing the world to bits.

I'm cautiously hopeful, too. God willing, things will be all right.
