Anyone notice how inconsistent the writing for Spike is in this season? Having been monumentally hungover all day yesterday, me and my season 6 DVDs spent some quality time together

Word. I think it is easier for some fans to believe that Spike couldn't love without a soul because it would make soulless Angel look even worse in comparison. Drusilla herself says that soulless creatures can love, even if they do not love wisely.
