Now I am rereading the book to find these answers-especially where she was born! Nothing like a trivia hunt to motivate me! Or maybe I was just looking for an excuse to reread the book...
I can totally see her on the ground in Bosnia and other war zones, and it makes sense that she doesn't get overly rattled when things go south in Pegasus. I loved learning more abou her past
( ... )
I think Elizabeth had to have extensive experience in order to be where she is when we meet her in SG-1. Bosnia made sense, given her age. I'm glad that worked for you.
Teyla is so irritated with Daniel! But she is keeping him on track.
That's one of the things I love and respect about Elizabeth -- she's an idealistic pragmatist. She has the ideals, and she is willing to put her life on the line to serve them, but she also knows when you have to be practical. That's leadership, in my opinion.
She's going to be pleased with the treaty with the Wraith, I think. It's not a perfect solution, but it's a little closer to one.
This is kind of unrelated to her past as per your questions but, are you thinking of giving a reason as to why she dyed her hair blond (assuming her natural hair color is brown/slightly red?)? Just a little funny backround joke about them switching her actresses. But seriously the question still stands.
I loved the part when her boss told her to get on the ground and actually see whats happening, that one scene shows her innocence in her younger years that we didn't see in the show. That gaining of experience in the Bosnia flash backs, and maturation were some of the best Elizabeth scenes.
You know, I'm just kind of ignoring that they started with a different actress! :)
I'm glad you liked the part with Senator Nunn. He's a real person, and it was definitely fun to write him. That's the kind of thing he would have said.
