another attack of the telly

So, now I'm addicted to House, M.D.

Television series are such an addictive thing! I took a break from The O.C. only to get sucked right back in! It's crazy. Just one more episode, just another 42 minutes -- and the next thing you know, the whole day has gone by ( Read more... )

We have no tv reception, but I still manage to kill time in front of it with DVDs. But I knit, or read, while watching =) Then I feel less guilty! yay!

Hehe, I can't seem to multi-task with tv .. (guilt, guilt, guilt) Unless I find something in which I can keep my eyes on the screen and still do; like exercise! Well, sorta ;)

House is cool. And yes, the tele does tend to suck one in when one happens to wander into its field of vision.. B-) I guess I'm blessed that it's not in my direct path entering the house i.e. it's tucked at the end of the house opposite the door so I can make it to my room without having to pass it.

I can understand -- at least a little -- about the addictiveness of shows. We've got some lined up that we've yet to catch up on: House, Lost, Battlestar Galactica (laughs), movies, maybe even Desperate Housewives. *wry* I've resorted to compromising that if I'm gonna watch, I'm gonna be doing something else at the same time.. like folding the laundry or sewing or something. Stretching, if nothing else.

I guess I'm more guilty than most -- I don't watch the actual telly, but the episodes on my computer, which means some decision and effort on my part was actually conducted to get sucked in!

I could even add more to that list ('maybe' even Desperate Housewives? -- I've already converted ;))... which was why I'm always a little reluctant to start a new series, for fear of getting addicted. :P

Watching on the computer restricts my mobility a little, and the lack of commercials don't let me read or anything like that. I think I just have to restict how many I'm going to watch in one sitting or something like that-- SELF DISCIPLINE! *coughs*

I think I still have a lot to learn about balance -- probably part of why I don't watch television at all.
