...how happy this icon makes me (stolen from
princekermit). Now I just need to figure out how to dissect animated gifs so I can add frames for "tenant" vs. "tenet" and "loose" vs. "lose".
Edited to add:: also "altar" vs "alter", "censer" vs. "censor", "mute" vs. "moot"....

years ago I had a friend who disliked how often people use the generic word "stuff" to mean just about everything. he used to say:
"stuff is a verb. it means 'to cram'".

I'm reading LJ at work. I don't think it's appropriate to view content that is not appropriate for minors while at work. However, that was based on my guess that it was your choice to place a LJ cut with " You are about to view content that may not be appropriate for minors. " on this entry. However, the next post had exactly the same disclaimer, so I clicked on it anyways.
How could this possibly be inappropriate to minors? WTF is up with LJ that it's censoring?

This is one of LJ's recent unpublicized changes to try to make it more worksafe/childsafe. Each person can set their journal's overall rating. If you have it set to anything other than the lowest setting (in other words, if you ever at any time make posts that might not be childsafe) it will warn you (If you are not logged in) about every entry you read.
It's a confusing and cumbersome system and I wish it would go away. Especially since it's been around for months now and people are still being surprised/confused by it.
