Yeah I think you're right. Unfortunately as relationships are not meant to work that way (From a psychological standpoint) someone often does get hurt or want more, so like you said, people have to be very careful when entering such an arrangement. But if it can be equally beneficial and both are having fun/no one gets hurt, it can only be a good thing I imagine :)
