There I was, innocently reading a baseball article, when this jumped off the page at me:

I had to find out. Is this a real team? I turns out, it is either an extremely elaborate ruse, or the Isotopes are the Marlins' AAA affiliate*.

I believe the story is that the Albuquerque Isotopes were on an episode of the Simpsons and so when the new owers bought the Albuquerque Dukes, they renamed the team the Isotopes. They have fireworks after every game and my dogs get freaked out, but I like to watch them from my front porch.
