And they're back!

The Russian spammers! I've missed them so! Well, not really.

And this is why I flirt with deleting my LJ account, even though I like its community set up better than other platforms. D:

What I "love" about the Russian spammers is they seem to find some random OLD entry of mine to spam. Currently, their favorite one on my public LJ is my rant about SciFi cancelling The Dresden Files! For some reason they think people who like Harry will want knockoff designer handbags.

The way I see it though, with my settings, they all get filtered out so no one but me sees them anyway. I could even leave them in the queue, hidden from the world, forever, so really, the only time they're wasting is their own.

Exactly! How do they pick the particular posts to spam?

I'm the only one who sees them, but still it irritates me.

Yeah, they're after me too. I disabled commenting on a bunch of entries they seemed to love to comment on anonymously, and now I'm getting a bunch of "great blog" comments IN RUSSIAN from fake lj accounts. I may delete them even if they don't seem like spam because who comments in another language in a blog that is written in English? What is their angle? To piss me off?

That's exactly what I'm getting, great blog comments in Russian. And it's really random which posts beg the spam. Not posts that had a lot of traffic or comments otherwise.
