+  Read an HP/category yesterday that was sort of meh.  But getting to the end and seeing what the author (and publisher) is doing to the couple next really irritates me.  The whole point of the category rom is that it is a discrete story with guaranteed HEA.  Yes, full of ridiculous tropes, but still

Tires are SO EXPENSIVE. It's ridiculous. But at least now you have new tires and a safer car. :)

That's what I'm telling myself, otherwise the hole in my bank balance would make me ill, especially on top of the other maintenance/repairs I paid for less than a month ago.

We're lucky enough that my brother knows cars and works at the car dealership (I worked there in high school, so some of the guys still treat me like I'm one of their kids, which helps with things my brother can't do), so we generally get a discount on parts and don't have to pay labor. And it's still expensive! I can't imagine having to pay full price for stuff.
