Good news, everyone!

What with me being bummed so much of the time, and posting about it, I figure this journal could stand to be a lot more cheerful. I therefore resolved, some time ago, to post about good news the next time I got some ( Read more... )

Glad to hear you've got good news!

It's really nice you'll be able to do computer stuff outside. I find that, while LJ is addictive, it's not particularly rewarding when I end up sucked into my screen for eight hours at a time, and end up missing the daylight.

I'm not familiar with Michelle Ryan, but, just in case no one else on your f-list is either, allow me to help simulate the fandom experience...ahem...

SQUEE! OMG SHEE IZ SOO HAWT!

(you maybe wanted something a little more intellectual, but, I hope that'll hold you for a few moments! ;-)

SQUEE! OMG SHEE IZ SOO HAWT!

True story.

Ideally, I'm hoping to use the new laptop to write things in places that are not my house, because I think I might write better things. These things will probably not show up on LJ for the most part, but who knows?

You need to get that bad boy tricked out with flames and shit.

Pimp my chair!

(I am not being insensitive, srsly, well maybe a little)

Just don't drink and drive. When I was in college, I had to pull a guy's old school power wheelchair out of a rut because he was too shitfaced to drive it properly. Of course I was drunk too, which made it hysterically funny. I wish I had video of that!

Yay laptop!

"Pimp my chair" seems to be the consensus. I'm currently looking at a manual chair so I can get my upper body strength back. I'm told the important accessory is a T-shirt reading "fully functional lap".

Ha!

A friend tried to fix me up with her brother who is a quad, and she made it very clear that 'all his guy parts work'!

In the end it didn't work all that well because I wasn't cute enough for him!

I can't really discuss the details yet, but it looks as though I will be able to get a much shinier wheelchair than I was expecting, and also probably a new laptop- or access to one, anyway, which means I will be able to do computer stuff outside, which I have been longing to do.

Excellent!

I haven't seen Michelle Ryan in action yet, but I'm sure I'll see plenty of her when I'm watching due to my Katee Sackhoff crush.

Hooray for good news and shiny things!

I think I'm going to have to see Michelle Ryan in action before I fall to her charms, but I see she's British, so I might have a crush as soon as she opens her mouth. :) (Wikipedia says she auditioned to replace Billie Piper on Doctor Who!)

The way I heard it she went out for the part of Rose and not Martha, but so what?
