Totally.

So I decided that medicated and mental wasn't the way to go. I was drowsy, placid and pretty much useless.  Plus, I put on weight and had tummy problems.  So my brain said fuck that shit.

I am a big believer in patient input for balancing symptom relief/side effects (psych meds in particular a doozy for this kind of thing) however, I'll give you the same advice that I give everyone - make sure you discuss your decisions with your prescriber.

Even if its a case of turning up to your appointment and very firmly telling them 'I'm doing this', its important that they are aware of the issues you are having and the reasons you want to use the balance you are. Even if you think they are totally shit, they have more experience for you and may be able to give you more information to help with your decisions.

I did double check with my GP and he said I can take any combination of the meds he has prescribed up to the maximum doses depending on how I feel. In his mind any day where I feel that I can get by on just ibuprofen is a win.

Ah good times, just wanted to check as the doc/meds thing can become a bit adversarial at times. Hope you manage to find a balance that works for you.
