book events in nyc in dec

Since I'm going to be in New York in December, I'm curious if there are any literary events happening in the city during that time. Sadly, I'll miss the Brooklyn Book Festival by a few months, so I'm keen to find out if anything else will be going on. I'm a member of the PEN American Center and the National Book Critics Circle, so I'll be checking

Keep eyes open: Henry Rollins is announcing dates for his next monologue tour today.

Ooh, that could be interesting. I've heard some of his spoken-word poetry; the dude is a force of nature.

I saw him talk/rant succinctly and fiercely for three hours once. He is... damn.

A friend lived with him back in the late 80's- just sharing a flat. She said- back then- he was a weird roommate. At that point he was a strict vegetarian and utterly monastic. No meat, no drugs, no booze, no sex- just weightlifting, poetry, his publishing business and working on developing his inner core of (lucid) rage.

Apparently his training regimen worked.

According to his tour page, it looks like he'll be in NYC, but not in December. Shoot.

I'll keep you posted as I hear about events in December. Will you be around all month? Maybe you should do an event for Surreal Botany? :) I hope we get to hang out at some point!

I appreciate that, Eugene, and yeah, I really hope we get to hang out. If you're going to KGB that month, I really want to try and make it.

I won't be around all month, just for two weeks (11-25 December). I'd love to do an event for Surreal Botany, but it would feel very strange not having Janet there as well. Still, I might be up for it. Any suggestions?
