My ten year old wanted this book from a bookshop- I'll get it for her/us as that is such a coincidence. He is radiant; even in a picture he is so calming to see. Thanks for posting this.
He's definitely a calming presence, and the book is an excellent one. I love Iyer's writing anyway, but this is probably his best book yet. Not much about Buddhism per se, but a lot about the Dalai Lama's life, and the past and current situation in Tibet.
If you or your daughter are further interested to learn about Buddhism, Thubten Chodron's Open Heart, Clear Mind is a logical next book to read.
