Chevron must be boycotted.
Unocal must be boycotted.
BP must be boycotted.
China MUST be boycotted.
But people frankly don't care enoungh to actually make efforts, take responsibility.

I don't have words to express my frustration, my cynicism and the profound ache in my heart.

The Thai response? Seriously blase. Disturbingly so.

Life is cheap here, and cheaper in Burma. If it is your Karma to be killed by fascists, better luck next life.

Besides, it's not like they are significant people- they're Burmese!

I am glad to have spent two years in the third world. I have learned a lot, adjusted a lot of attitudes, and come out more knowledgeable.

Familiarity, it has been said, breeds contempt.
