So the Italian Department awarded me a prize named after a fascist for my history thesis on the Italian Communist Party.

That whole statement is wrought with contradiction, but I am glad that it is true.

Also, I am so frustrated with honor societies that make you pay to join.

No, it was the Dino Bigongiari prize, he was a Columbia Professor, and a founder of the fascist society in America. He would probably turn in his grave if he knew.
