Well that broke my heart just a bit. I'm excited to see something a little longer in this world though!

Aww. Poor Rose, but she's lucky to have someone she can talk to about it. (He even researches it for her!)

Rose is very, very lucky indeed to have a partner with whom she can discuss these things. It helps that Peter's experienced loss of his own, even if it is of a different scale and type.

It's so sad thinking of all she's had to give up. Christmas would be a very hard thing to have to live without. I'm glad Peter is so loving and understanding with her about it and that she can still share it with him even when he doesn't really get it's importance to her. I love that he's willing to try so hard.

It's so sad thinking of all she's had to give up.

I think it would be very, very easy for Rose to sink into permanent melancholy, if she allowed herself to dwell too much on what she's lost; instead, she made a decision to consciously focus on what she's built in her new world. But that doesn't mean she doesn't still miss those things she lost--and, sometimes, it simply hurts too much to ignore.

Poor Rose, I'd admit I'd hate not having a Christmas as well. Lovely first part!

There are things I'm not fond of in Christmas--but it really would be heartbreaking to not have it all.
