This book is AWESOME! I picked it up after learning that Johnng Depp had acquired the rights and is going to make it a movie...and I loved it. It's a semi-autobiographical novel about a man named Lindsay (or later known as Linbaba) who escaped prison in Australia and ended up in India. He meets up with the hilarious and sincerely cheerful Prabakar who becomes his best friend. He falls in love with a mysterious Swiss-American woman, named Karla. Eventually Linday is swept up into the world of the Indian mob, following one Abdel Khadar Khan. And eventually, he gets thrown into the middle of a guerilla war against the Russians in Afganistan. It's one amazing read, very cinematic in story telling and the overall feel of the book. Can't wait for the sequel. ....nor the movie :)

It's still a work in progress, but it's a wonderful read. Very emotional...and I love how her Kirk isn't some jerk trying to get into Uhura's pants.
