Good points, I've been thinking along the same lines myself, but now I might just turn lazy and link to it too, with permission of course.

It's very true, taken literally. Of course everything in our lives is "real life". To say "it's communication, it puts me in touch with people around the world" is a perfectly valid response to the statement" "Come off that computer and rejoin 'real life'", and that's all Calle wrote, of course. But in my opinion, there is actually such a thing as spending too much time in front of the computer, being unhealthily obsessed by teh Intarweb thingy. If someone sits in front of a computer all day, and spends almost all time at home emailing and communicating on blogs and web fora, saying "Hey, it's communication, it puts me in touch with people around the world" doesn't necessarily mean it's a good and healthy thing, any more than we'd think someone who sits talking on the phone all day is leading a full, healthy, and rewarding life.
