some thoughts about television

So I was gone this weekend, and I'm catching up on LJ but if there's anything I need to see please let me know. I don't generally say "hey I'll be gone" because it's pretty rare on any given five-day period that anyone is looking for me that urgently, but I did find myself to be too tired and overstimulated to be good about keeping up and

Shows I'm watching through my fingers: Glee, Hawaii Five-O, Dancing with the Stars. Well, I always watch DwtS through my fingers.

I've never watched more than one episode of DwtS per season but this year I think I'll watch just for Chaz Bono, because the more people watch, the quicker Dr. Keith Ablow's head will explode.

If you think of it like a ridiculous, cheesy 70s variety show it can be quite entertaining. Bergeron is an excellent host because he doesn't take it too seriously. And the results show is really great because they get good musical performers and all the pros do a dance routine to their songs. However, DVR is your friend, because you can just zip through whatever you don't care about.

Thanks for the tips. We don't have a DVR so I guess I'll have to just watch the whole thing. And I'd be doing it to support Chaz AND because I hate Dr. Keith. I do like Bergeron a lot - we're big fans of America's Funniest Videos (which IIRC is only on ABC Family channel these days).
