I was curious, so I went over to Portkey to find EWFS and see what kind of reviews people left, and OH HOLY HELL. There are some massively homophobic asshats on that archive. Wow. The sheer number of people who said they were "disgusted" by homosexual pairings makes me kind of want to throw things. You were SO polite in your responses to them -- better than I would have done. :-P
It's nuts, like, I don't even get it! Back in the day, the H/Hr people and the H/D people were likethis. They were like, the two bedrock ships at FictionAlley!
And those comments came AFTER I warned for slash (specifically the Seamus/Dean) and AFTER the mods said, yeah, you need to warn for slash and maybe your standalone NC17 is a little spicy for this site and AFTER I had to go through a whole approval process to become an author over there. CRAZY.
Meanwhile the D/G archive Fire and Ice? couldn't have been awesomer!
I'm sorry you had to deal with an archive that was slash-hating. That's just sad. But WE love you!
ETA: I voted for putting it out gradually because, for me, I love and adore long fics, but they often sit, waiting, on my hard drive, unread because I don't do so good with starting and NOT reading, so I feel like I have to find time to read before I even start. If I get it in little chunks, then I feel like I can read it as it goes. But that's just me.
It made me sad because those are my PEEPS, WN. MY PEEPS. But with a fandom as big as this, it's no surprise that there are segments and subsections, you know?
I am doing as your cowriter suggests and posting it both ways, in installments here and at DW and then all at once on AO3. The archives, it depends on how annoying the coding gets.
What happened? Like, didn't it used to be a place where they only linked to fic? The next time I looked, it was all, you have to apply to be a writer and send us three fics, so I sent a bunch and they were like, well, your NC17 is pretty racy so if you post it there make sure you say that. (I guess the bend-over-boyfriend aspect isn't vanilla enough?) And they were like, no really, warn for slash, so I totally did but man, they slammed me on the Sirius/Remus which to be honest I'd literally forgotten about (because lol, canon
( ... )
I highly recommend AO3 to you. It will import from LJ and all you have to do is fix the header, takes like five minutes. And you can put ANYTHING there: RPF, NC17, all fandoms ever. And they have a whole "we always want to be here" thing happening. I like having some one stop shopping for my stuff. But I still post here on LJ, natch.
But yeah they were all :O!! and I was like, what, I warned for the Seamus/Dean! and then I was like, oh, right, Sirius/Remus is slash, isn't it? oh silly people!
Haha, this whole pottermore thing, I'm happy to let y'all work through the beta and I'll just hop on as a lame laggard when it opens to hoi polloi. It's like, five people I'm following on twitter so I'm pretty sure I'll find out all about it.
But it's really fun to see people coalescing again with the movie. It's like Old Home Days. And Potter seriously never dies, which is comforting, somehow. Elastic enough to contain all of us in our ever expanding pervy glory.

How about putting it up all at once at AO3 and in small batches on LJ/DW? That was people can have a choice. (I can DL both onto my Kindle and enjoy.)

In unrelated news, I am in LOVE with that icon because, as was pointed out earlier, lol canon. ;) Best frame in the flick.
