A while back I did an anti-grammar pet peeve post where we all admitted our frequent grammar errors, and it was a snark free zone. I've inadvertently seen a good bit of ranting about things lately, and that always makes me sort of annoyed and want to fight back with THINGS THAT I LOVE.

Are there any in Trek? There are so many in ATLA. And of course, Rymon.

I liked the cutesy nicknames we had for them in HP. On the forums at FA there were threads that all had cutesy HMS whatsit names because they were ships, get it? H/Hr was Pumpkin Pie, H/D was Guns & Handcuffs. So much better than Drarry. I liked when people referred to the Sirius/Remus people as puppyshippers.

I hate "Jones" because it's an actual name, and "McKirk" because it sounds like McGuirk, a character from Home Movies.

Why does that story about slash being invented by Kirk/Spock make you not want to have them in Trek? (Which, K/S is only one source-slash fic for the British Invasion bands may well be older, but is at least as old. This I say because I reject the One True Historical Narrative of Fandom.)

i feel like a broken record, but every time i read one of your posts in which you talk about people vocally rejecting something and making personal remarks about why one might like it, i'm amazed. i don't understand that level of personal affront with entertainment, at all. anyway, i like all these things too, and i do believe they are more popular in the world at large than within fandom, which tends toward the intense.
