I can't say how much i enjoyed this fic. It has been my routine to read every Friday morning at work, what will i do now?!
I too was worried that Ryan or Simon would be killed off, so this was a perfect ending for me. I can't deal with tragedy for those two! It all felt so realistic, your imagery was fantastic.
I'm so honored that you made the story part of your routine! And thank you so much for your comments; it meant so much to me to know that people were reading.
I spent three days wrapped up in this. It was terrific. I love the universe you created. I'm not a big fan of war stories but the characters were so vibrant and engaging that I was caught up. One of the best rpf a/us I've read. thank you.
Would you believe that I'm not a big fan of war stories, either? Hence, no battle scenes!
I'm so pleased that it created a real universe for you, enough to get wrapped up in. What a compliment, as that is definitely what I hope to give the reader. Thank you so much!
Well, sit down and get comfortable, 'cause this one's gonna be long.
Now, I haven't followed Idol enough to know half these people. Giuliana's a vague name from some talk show somewhere, and I haven't a clue who Robinson or MacHale or Kimberley are, among others.
But.
This is the most incredible thing I've ever read outside the Star Trek fandom. The world you create is so vivid, so real - World War II has been a special fascination of mine for years now, particularly those early years just after the Invasion before America entered the war. I've cried over Coventry and the Blitz, felt my heart ache at the bravery of the Royal Family, visited Churchill's bunker and gloried in the Battle of Britain, because truly "never was so much owed by so many to so few." Your historical detail is so rich, so wonderful, and even the licenses with history you take don't matter. I cannot believe I've found a story like this - life and love for anyone and everyone. I wish I could go back and list everything that impressed me, all the little details

First, thank you so much for wandering about and reading some of my other fics. I'm very flattered!
Giuliana Rancic is Ryan's cohost on E!News. Joel McHale is a host on another E! show called The Soup and has a friendly teasing rivalry with Ryan. Robinson was on AI season 3, and Kimberley was on season 2, coming in third to Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken.
Anyway, thank you so, so much for your comment here! I admit this fic was my baby and so I'm incredibly pleased that you liked it so much esp with your familiarity with the period and the events. That means a lot!
