I agree with the above poster about Simon and Ryan--I love that whole section with Ryan's previous boyfriends and the war, especially that Hemingway going for a cause and discovering a war, and Ryan going for a war and discovering a cause. I can totally buy Ryan doing that--and Ryan the romantic usually going for guys that he admires and adventurers that he gushes about. Then he doesn't know what to do with this prickly Brit. Err...that is, he knows exactly what to do with him but is constantly surprised by that.
I love Archie getting adopted by the other guys, and even getting his man-sized nickname.
And Kim sort of remains my favorite. She's so totally the heroine of a novel. And I'm totally with her on being off-balanced by Richardson! But I love her little black cat she gave him, and him putting it next to his cross. He's such the gentleman. I can see the two of them being somebody's grandparents today.
Now I must go pop in "A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square." Love that song. Thanks for the vids too!
It excites me that people are enjoying the little nuances of Simon and Ryan's relationship. It's always fun to see what people pick up on-and with Kim too! Her relationship with Robinson is similarly a lot of very small moments.
The dancing scene was incredible, I felt like I was flying through the air right along with Kimberley, and I just adore the slow progression of their relationship.
I must admit the Ryan/Simon parts are my personal favorites, they are just so incredibly well written, and the boys are being so cute. I look forward to seeing what happened to Simon in the first war, I have a feeling that will be a turning point in their relationship when/if Simon opens up and tells Ryan what happens.
Thank you, again, for sharing this wonderful story with us.
When I was working on this story I always said I didn't need to make a villain within it, because I had Hitler! So he'll be making his presence a bit more known in upcoming chapters.
I'm so pleased you liked the dancing scene! One is never sure if they come across.
Thank you so much for reading, and commenting-I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
