"Almost there, sweetheart," Simon said, rubbing his cock with jelly until it shone in the morning light.
LOL! This line made me giggle with glee. I feel like when Ryan looks at it he hears an angels' chorus.:-)
OMG, Robinson is so cute and serious using Jane Austen to share his thoughts on fatherhood, and I love the way Kim had thought of Mr. Bennett vs. the way he came across to him. She is so living her own modern Austen romance.
Love the naughty weekend at the English estate. It almost made me feel like it was pre-WWI because it had that golden summer feel...though at the same time, since that war's already happened, everyone's far more aware and self-conscious about it so it's not.
I especially liked the boy-talk/girl-talk sections. And Paula's a hoot in any decade.
That's the thing: Ryan really does think Simon is the bee's knees, even if no one says that anymore.
People keep revisiting that interwar period, and I think it's because being post-WWI gives it a bit more cynicism, a modern sensibility instead of an Edwardian one, and yet they're still clinging to King and Empire, esp after the whole Edward VIII mess. And now we all know what will happen, post-WWII, so it sort of is, well, perhaps an Indian Summer?
"They collapsed and untangled, breathless and sweaty, and then Simon started to chuckle."
Absolutley loved that line, cause that would so happen. I loved the banter between Cook, McHale, and Simon and Ryan, ahh, this makes me have a good rest of the day.
Especially liked the ending, I'm hanging on for more!
One of my betas said she couldn't believe I was holding the sex until halfway through the story, and I replied that I've written a lot of Rymon NC17 and folks could wait. So I'm really pleased to hear that you thought it was worth it. Thank you!!

Cook looked down at Joel's foot and said, "Those nails need a touch-up."
Simon leaned over to Ryan and stage-whispered, "How can they be queerer than we are?"

I´m starting to like Cook/McHale, and that whole first scene with the four of them in the kitchen was hilarious!
Kim and Robinson are so unsure of themselves, and sweet. I love their hesitant relationship slowly progressing.
That last part...*gulp* I´m a little scared to see what´s going to happen now, with what we know happens in the war.
I can´t say how much I love love love this story, it´s simply amazing, and most definitely the most thought out and complex AU´s I´ve ever read.
