Let's see if I can make it that far!

  1. The more I look at Ryan's new hair, the more I love it.
  2. Speaking of Ryan, classy of E! not to run the Rhianna photo. Not classy of the NY Post to put it on the damn front page so it was unavoidable in the city on Friday.
  3. Speaking of the Post not being classy, here's my favorite comment on the cartoon, ( Read more... )

Seriously, it's the unfunny that's the first thing you notice.

Totally good call on the What Not To Wear differences. It drives me crazy the way those two react to words like "comfortable."

Unfunny and using an allusion that many people wouldn't get anymore.

Ugh, they're such snobs and not in a good way.

I've never really watched a Joss Whedon show before Dollhouse. Never got into Buffy or Firefly, but Dollhouse has really piqued my interest, and I say this as someone who never thought I'd have any interest in a Joss Whedon show. I'm hoping it's not nearly as byzantine as BSG, which I love but OMG I'm almost glad it's going to be over soon.

I'm thinking that television shows should not be a trial to be endured.

YES. This is how I feel about SG-1 - I know so many people who love this show, but I've seen enough of it to know that I don't *want* to watch it, I don't enjoy it, and quite frankly I have better things to do with my time than watch ten seasons of a show I don't enjoy.

ah, the post. paper of record for men who still don't understand that the reason they can't get a break is not because they're straight, male, "white," or "christian"- who the hell do they think runs things anyway? they get, dimly, that they're being squeezed out. they do not get that all the "minorities" and "special interest groups" they think are squeezing them out are targets to which the actual squeezers have been successfully directing their rage since, oh, about 1980. they also don't get why they haven't gained any ground since, oh, about 1980. pray god this depression wakes them up the way the last one did their grandfathers. there are some hopeful signs.

i find it fascinating that you and i are SO alike yet buffy/heroes/BSG don't fly for you. it's not that i don't love the things you love in narrative, but i love other things that you don't.
