Another much-needed and lovely get away.  O is a very wonderful person and I am continually surprised - despite my doubts - that he is constantly supportive and by my side when I need him ( Read more... )

I know this might sound bad, and I don't mean it to, but have you been to a shrink and been checked for depression, it can have all of the above symptoms specially if it is caused by stress and exaustion.
I know you have your fare share of both.

I hope it gets better and I am glad you got a few days away.

I'm actually very happy right now - so my mood does not seem to fit w/depression (no apathy, down periods, sadness). I have found passion and desire again, which had been missing for a while.

I got bit by a tick (I know b/c I pulled it off of me) about 3-4 weeks before my symptoms began occurring. I've had all the symptoms of Lyme except the rash.

The fevers occur on a 3-day cycle (like clockwork). I appreciate your suggestion, but don't think that I am depressed and will wait to see what the specialist has to say.

I will keep my fingers crossed that the specialist comes up with something.

Sorry to hear that you haven't been able to get to the bottom of your health mystery. It's got to be hard to figure out what it is when your symptoms seem so common to so many possibilities. Hopefully, the specialist will be able to narrow it down and even give you an answer. Who knows, maybe you'll find out it's something as simple as something at work you're having a reaction to, like an environmental illness, and not anything overly serious. I'll keep my fingers crossed it turns out to be something minor and an easy fix.

Perhaps it could be a mosquito borne disease? Malaria or something similar? I know you have probably already ruled that out though... I hope you get better soon, or at least find out what is going on.

I haven't been anywhere that Malaria is prevalent...I was wondering about West Nile. The treatment for Lyme disease would also have treated Malaria, so it is eliminated by default.

Again, since I pulled the tick off of me, the doctors are continuing to exhaust that pathway.
