JSA Brownstone -- The War Room

May 21, 2006 20:10

He only caught snippets of wht happened in Fawcett. He knows he has incoming, and wounded, but not who. The Atom is at his side, running data for the JLA.

He's got all JSA staff on alert, and Atom's keeping all JLA staff on standby.

All Hell has broken loose, and although he's not a religious man, he's starting to think that might be literal.

Within seconds, the Fawcett City team materializes within the main gathering area, designated for the emergency teleport. Of those assembled, Hourman is hurt, and Superman is holding an unconscious Green Lantern.

"We've got bigger problems than you can imagine, Mr. Terrific. In addition to Sabbac, Mordru, and Eclipso, you can add Johnny Sorrow and Darkseid to the mix. They all are apparently working together."

As soon as Superman finishes the statement, two more teleport in. Jesse Quick, and James Gordon.

"Darkseid?" says the Atom, the name tripping tentatively off his tongue as he rockets to help the wounded Green Lantern. "Since when does he work with anyone?"

There is a burst of light, and Dr. Fate, Zatanna, Dr. Occult and The Wizard appear.

"The situation is worse than you can possibly imagine," says Fate. "We can add Wotan to our list of enemies, although he is not acting with the others, to my knowledge."

He sees all eyes fall on Zard.

"The Wizard is with us, for now. We will have need of him."

Jesse looks around as they materialize...not quite where she was expecting, but that's fine. "Sorry about the teleportation, sir," she apologizes to Gordon, though her gaze flits around to find Hourman. Her relationship with Rick might be months in the past but feelings linger.

The door kicks open, revealing an agitate Wildcat.

"We got another wounded," he shouts. In his arms is the beaten body of the Shining Knight.

Terrific moves to see to the fallen hero.

"Shining Knight? Where was he?"

"Found him outside, believe it or not," says Wildcat. "And look at this."

The words "I'm back" are burned into his armor.

"Wotan," says Fate, standing by his fallen comrade. "It seems we are besieged from all angles."

Ibn arrives at the JSA brownstone carrying several suitcases. He wasn't sure which of the magics would be required so he brought a little of everything. Unlike everyone else, his only paranormal power requires components, research, and the occasional fetish.

The place is pandamonium, with heroes trying to figure out what hit them on two fronts, and wounded being carted off for treatment.

"Ibn," says Terrific, as Sir Justin's taken to the med lab for treatment. "Please tell me you have good news."

Ibn tries to think of good news and mostly fails. "I was not attacked or harassed on my journey here, which likely means that our enemies have no idea I am coming here. The implication from my benefactor was that the unknown ‘dark lord’ did not have a place for me in his plans."

Benefactor? Well, most people became nervous when he talked about Death as a person. Perhaps that was a better way to explain things.

“I brought my ‘mojo’ as you described it. There are several more boxes in the van.”

Alchemy can get the job done, but it takes a lot of effort and even more equipment.

"Excellent," says Terrific. As this day's going, that pretty much does pass for good news. "Fate's here now, with, uhm, just about every mystic I've ever met."

Travis is in rough shape, only slightly better off than the last blind person who got a look at Sorrow's face. The ring is keeping him from slipping any further into shock, but isn't able to do much more than that while also working on repairing the physical damage done by Darkseid.

Jesse, though focused on Rick, is certainly not ignorant of Travis' fate. From where she stands by her ex-boyfriend, she glances from time to time at the Green Lantern, worry etched in her features.

This is the first time most of them have seen her in a long time and she's more than aware of that. She hangs back for the most part but is not trying to be unapproachable.

The wounded catch her attention so she makes for that direction.

She feels a near-imperceptable wieght on her shoulder.

"Quite a scene, eh?" says a familiar voice.

She tilts her head to glance at him with a small if sad smile. Her voice is quiet, thoughtful.

"I had no idea. I...I'm sorry I wasn't here." Yep. Nothing like guilt.

"I caught the 411 from the guy in the trenchcoat. You helped bring Fate back. That's a big plus in our column."
