In the Cave

Themyscira under siege because of something Luthor wishes to accomplish, excused by a fake assassination attempt. Alan Scott presumed dead and his wife hospitalized after a savage beating. Joker nowhere to be found, which is never a good thing. Constantine on the loose with a gun to kill demons, implying demons are on the loose too ( Read more... )

It has been a long night by the time that Selina makes it here. A long night which won't be anything that could be called night in too much longer as she makes her way down the steps into the Cave. Her arms are wrapped around herself as she moves. Too many worries.

She needs to tell him about Alan. It gives her something to do in situations where she feels like a bit player, not even a pawn on the board.

Bruce is working. Other than sleeping or eating, when isn't he working? Bent over an array of pages on his workbench, back toward the steps, he does not appear to have seen her.

But he can hear.

"Wasn't expecting to see you."

"I know."

Selina stops a little distance away. "I talked to Ted... Wildcat." She sounds worried. "He said that he thought it was Mordru. That Alan might not be dead."

"I thought you'd want to know."

"He's not dead." Bruce sounds absolutely certain of it. Glancing over his shoulder at Selina, he adds more quietly, "I just can't prove it yet."

Robin enters the cave, ready to write up his nightly report.

As he passes, he glances at the documents Batman's examining.

Hey. How's that coming along?

Bruce nods to Selina, grave. He gives her a once-over as if making certain she is all right, then he turns toward Tim. "Got an idea what happened. Need more information. Anything new on Themyscira?"

A wary glance goes between Tim and Selina. They don't have the closest of relationships. As it were.

No. They don't.

Selina looks agitated. Worried. As Tim comes in, she seems to wall up a bit, though she doesn't leave yet. She wants to hear about Diana and her sisters too.

Nothing much - the Lanterns are trying to hold off the task force, buy the Themiscyrians some time to complete their investigation. It doesn't look promising.

He looks at Selina's tense stance. He's still not comfortable to see her in the cave, but he's getting used to it.

I can come back later if this is a bad time.

There is a burst of rainbow colored light and she stands in the batcave with the child Lyta by her side.

"I was sent to bring you something detective."

Batman's eyes narrow dangerously as he approaches this intruder. "Who are you?"

Selina pulls a 'don't look at me' moment and looks for a place to be out of the way. The goggles and her cowl are in her pocket, so it takes a bit to amange them.

"I am Harmonia, daughter of Ares and Aphrodite." she smiles a little with her hand on Lyta's shoulder.

"And this is my sister Lyta, I believe you were looking for her."
