Polly was nothing if not well prepared and the measurements for her non-ceremonial armor are almost exactly the same as Donna's. It flattens her chest a bit more than her old armor did. Mom never had to go through the whole morning sickness and expanding cup size thing, however. Still, it was going to have to do and she's stolen a moment alone ( Read more... )

She had been watching her sister clean the armor, her mother's armor, with a strange sort of double vision. A bit longer hair, a slightly different tilt to her nose and it could be their mother there in front of her.

Athena, how she missed her mother and wished she was here.

"Would you like some help, Sister?"

"If nothing else, I'd love the company," she replies, brushing her hair back and getting some of the tarnish in her hair. That's another difference. Donna's voice has similar tone and pitch to the Wonder Women, but her inflections are closer to what Diana hears in Man's World.

"I'm trying to think of licorice buttons and not the war."

Diana's voice reflects english being her second language, the lack of contractions and slight hesitation before some words.

"I think I may be able to keep you company, though I cannot swear to how good of company I will be." She lowers herself to sit next to Donna and slides a strap of leather from the armor through her fingers.

"Mother did like those very much, she was much better at adapting to her world than I am."

Donna gives her a smile, outs a hand briefly on her shoulder, and gives her the "But you're Wonder Woman," look.

"That's alright. As much as this is home I think I'll always be a bit of an outsider here. Cassie has that 'comfortable anywhere,' gift like Mom did." She sighs. "I think her mom has her in Greece right now waiting this thing out."

"No, when she names Lyta she had recovered, she was still Donna Milton at that time but she was going to live." she smiles slightly remembering that time, both bitter and sweet.

"She did know that she would be protected here, I think she did not weigh in how much she would miss her if she left her with us. Because of Lyta she did not kill me, for her safety she left her with us. But life watching others raise your child must be very empty."

"Yeah, not to start a fight or anything, but that's most of Cheshire's reasons for doing anything these days. She had a golden opportunity to kill me during the attack on the Tower and fought Plasmus off instead. She's still in a coma from that."

Her voice has a distinct, "Yeah, I'm screwed," tone.

"The work never stops. But I remind myself that Pandora didn't let hope out of the box, so sometimes it works out."

"It is something to think about." She picks the armor back up.

"I do not think this will get any cleaner, are you ready to put it on?"

"As ready as I'm going to get." She starts pulling it on. "Do me a favor," she asks before pulling on the breastplate. She moves over and kisses her sister's cheek. "Stay alive."
