The deserts of Arizona

It is a place far from any town, city or otherwise populated area where the Green Lantern sets down the group from Atlantis. The heat of the day is still emanating from the dry sand, felt easily through the soles of their feet. No chance of civilian casualties, or structural damage in the fight they know is to come. Garth is now recovered from his ( Read more... )

Bette feels herself being pulled by the spell but she, unlike the others, doesn't end up in Arizona. Magic is a strange, strange thing some times and apparently this time it decided something on its own. It has decided that instead of Bette's items coming to her, she needs to go to them.

This might well be because Harley left her medals and her diploma in her room at Titans Tower.

Because that's where she ends up. Wide eyed she ends up in that room... with Cyborg.

Oh damn, this is going to get ugly fast...

Vic had gone to fetch Harley, to see what she had accomplished. She isn't here. With everything that's been happening, this made Vic a little suspicious...of what he's not sure.

He's also not sure why Harley has Bette Kane's medals and diploma.

Nor does he have the faintest clue who the blonde in tights that just appeared in the room is. But he's pretty sure that

You don't belong here, he says, raising his blaster-hand. Why don't you start by explaining what you're doing in our Tower?

"Actually... I do. And that stuff right there... is mine." Bette points to the medals and the diplomas. "All I really want... is to get it back."

Well, no. Not really. There are a lot of other things she'd like too but right now that's at the top of the list. Get the stuff back. Worry about the horrible things she's done to her life later.

That blaster hand is a worry, though. He really only has to hit her once. It's why she's starting off by being reasonable and not just grabbing for them. Which... could be a mistake. That and there is probably a tiny bit of her that is hoping that Vic will remember her but... It is a very small part right now.

The look on Cyborg's face is skeptical.

Right. An Olympic-class athlete has taken up parading around in bright spandex and I haven't heard about it.

And how did Harley end up with your medals?

Green Lantern braces himself to try and act as a font of will for Garth's work, already knowing he's going to need to sleep for a few DAYS after this is over.

His eyes close, and he just focuses on the task at hand.

Gotta set a trap for 'em. They'll be comin' in fast.

Using the communicator she stole, she checks signal. Find one of them alone and off guard, that'll give her a shot...

Yes! Arizona desert. One signal. Middle of the desert and all those rocks. Jackpot.

She books it for the com signal as fast as she's able.

In the infirmary, Starfire is still tending to Beast Boy when she feels the pull of magic. "What? What's going on?" The infirmary fades away around her.

Aurora doesn't ask she she's in full costume here. She doesn't think about how she's going to explain this later.

Her nose is now like a cat's, thick fur and hide are now covering her body. She's a cat looking for the rival cat, and it's going to be a fight for territory.

He had been cradled by Kory in the Infirmary only seconds ago, but the next time Gar had opened his eyes, he was startled and falling to the sandy ground of the desert, landing face first.

Shifting, he spits out the mouthful of sand he managed to get, and pushes away with his hands and feet, startled by the animal in front of him.

"HOLY crap...!" is all he can think to exclaim, the sudden location change and unknown people all around him adding to the confusion, this beast woman being the closest of them.

His instincts tell him to run for survival, and he changes into a cheetah, to get some distance away from the costumed cat.

What is this? A "Furry" Convention in Death Valley...?!

"I won't hurt you, Garfield," she says, though there's a growl in her voice due to changing forms and the feral tendencies that kick in when she goes into beast form.

"But I'm not letting her destroy the Titans."

Terra laughs in her face. "Yeah, right. Just try it, hippie."

"Gar," she shouts. "This was the person rattling 'round my skull!"
