JSA Brownstone

The lights in the room dim for but a moment as Corrine shifts the group back to the brownstone. She's tired, hungry, cold, scared, and not looking forward to certain conversations, but she takes it as a comfort that at least she's still alive ( Read more... )

They never have to yell.

He emerges from the kitchen, eating an actual carrot. If Ma Hunkle was watching him, she'd never let up with the rabbit-food jokes.

But it does sound urgent, so he's moving with a quickness toward the voice.

"What?"

Medical terminology, right. Or some semblance thereof. Or at least a general idea of what's going on.

Nope. Corrine's not really feeling the sane right now.

"Uh... bad?" She points in the general direction of Caleb who's been carefully set to bleed all over a chair. She idly thinks what a pity it is-- nice chair.

Trevor stares at Corrine for a long moment, then shakes his head, turning his attention to Midnite. His arm will wait. "If I remember Tara correctly, broken ribs, probably some internal bleeding, head trauma..."

He leans around, giving Caleb a grimace. "Lots, probably." He holds out a rather old looking gem on a chain-- the demon's amulet. "Here, this fixes people... I think. Make him not die. I hold no responsibility if that thing self-destructs, though."

He puts his lunch aside and immediately springs to work.

"Tell me how this happened, as thoroughly as you can."

He moves quickly to Caleb to try to find the source of his wounds. He glances at the offering of an 'amulet,' and shakes his head. "I prefer to not to rely on magic unless it's absolutely necessary, young man."

He knows Corrinne peripherally, but he doesn't know the rest of these people, really, but it's not about to stop him from helping out. Carefully moving Caleb to an operating table, the machines in the lab hum to life and start scanning, and he's quickly gathering his internal-bleeding equipment.

*Taking the kit, Caleb places the amulet on the table, and then swings the kit at it with such force as to shatter it into two dozen small fragments. A momentary flash of yellow light results, and then coalesces into a small floating object roughly spherical in shape. After a few seconds, the light fades, and all is again normal.*

*Under his breath.* “I’m sorry…. I didn’t know…” *He lifts his head up again, and looks back at the doctor.* “How can I help?”

"You can start by telling me what the hell's happened to you people." His good mood is gone, now that he's... surely this is some kind of sin.

"You can tell me why Corrine has been giggling maniacally this whole time, and if you can tend to her apparent stab wound, assuming you're an actual medical doctor and not one of demonology..."

*For the first time in his thirty-two years, he’s actually embarrassed to say this.* “Not a demonologist not .. a, uh…. historian…” *He looks down, temporarily not feeling worthy of the title ‘doctor’ that he spent eight years earning.* “I do know some healing spells, however. They aren’t cure alls, though. Mystical cures are tricky, and I’m not nearly good enough to repair all their wounds. I’ll do my best, though ( ... )

Gauze still in hand, Corrine does a quick sign of the cross. "In manus tua, domine, commendo spiritum suum."

It doesn't really make her feel any better, though, so she turns her attention to a shiny new roll of medical tape. She realizes, with a cracked little smile, that her arm no longer hurts, and she looks up at Caleb. She carefully breaks off a piece of tape and sticks it to his nose. "Not dead."
