To all Society higherups:

Re: Possibly problem

Greetings, friends. We've got an issue. Dr. Polaris, who provided mass-transport at our last little recruitment effort...well, he sort of let it slip to The Joker that he wasn't invited to play in our little reindeer games.

Worse yet, he didn't kill him.

So, we've got an unaccounted for, Very ( Read more... )

Well, Calculator, what I can do is distract Harlequin away from him for now. Also, I would consider it a personal honor to give what I can to outfit someone willing to kill him. Other than that, to keep him without random assistance, I must remain out of the picture.

Worse comes to worse, there's a few people on our dishonor roll that won't bat an eye about kacking Joker. If he was to meet with a very fatal accident, would Quinn become a problem?

I think if you gave her a shiny target and said it destroyed the Joker, that would be sufficient. I would be glad to dispose of the assasin as well so no boasting. You could also blame a superhero group, but they don't normally kill, sadly. I will be having her away from Gotham in 2 days and on the road. I trust you'd be able to do a proper frame.

Why is he even pissed? He hates working with other people anyway, right?

Or is trying to apply logic to the Joker just a waste of time?

Chaos, Manta. It's like trying to apply logic to the movements of a storm. He gets cranky because he gets cranky. No other real reason.

That I can tell, anyway.

I can always mix up a counter Joker-venom. Available to any members of the society preparing to engage in combat with the Joker, or planning to cover their assets.

It will be available shortly. It won't be a complete protection, of course -- he's deadly for more reasons than just the toxin -- but it will remove one weapon in his arsenal.

Did you need a sample, Dr. Crane?

No thank you, Dr. Isley. I managed to keep a sample from a time when he gassed a city block.

He will hold a grudge. He will harass our operations, he will leak operational information to law-enforcement and the League, and if he meets with any of us individually, he will attempt to kill us.

Do not underestimate him. He has a success rate on par with most of ours (except for Wilson), and even his failures tend to leave a messy swath of bodies. He is a maniac, but he is also extremely cunning. Raw power means little -- he doesn't fight fair, and he has a sixth sense for an opportunity.

Personally, I would dislike neutralizing him. If nothing else, he worries Batman, and the more worried we keep Batman about things other than us, the better off we are. But if he forces you into it, do it with extreme prejudice.

Remind me never to play chess with you, Zoom.

We keep an eye out.

If he tries anything, I'll ice him.

Simple.

Whoo, remind me not to make you mad anytime soon, Slade.

You bother with warnings when people can be warned. The Joker can't. I'm not the Batman. He comes after me, he interferes with my business, he dies. Period.

Is Polaris being... warned... for what he has done?
