In the dark of the early morning and on an abandoned rooftop, Cheshire is briefly waiting. Well aware that she had neglected her task for Shiva long enough-and having no desire to see how charming the woman could be when she was impatient-she had channeled her anger over losing Lian into preparing ( ... )

His movements seem slow; but to anyone who doesn't know him, one could simply take his change of pace for caution. He hasn't seen her yet. She's not aware of it, but he's busy contemplating smacking his head against a brick wall to distract from the pain currently lancing across his temples.

He's paused on the rooftop. Maybe he's watching something down below.

A sound, faint and yet still audible to one trained to be fully aware of their surroundings catches her attention and she turns. Cheshire isn't surprised to see Nightwing standing a distance away from her, unaware of her presence. She had chosen a place he would have to come to sooner or later.

She picks up the suitcase in one hand and steps closer...though not too close...and is certain the sound of her footsteps will attract his attention. But despite that, she can't resist a quip before proceeding to business.

"It's been awhile, hasn't it?" She states with with a faux attempt at geniality. "But this is hardly a social visit. You have something I need. The manner in which I retrieve it depends wholly upon you."

He hadn't heard her - as is evidenced by his posture changing in a second, head snapping round to the source of the voice. He's been too distracted by the nausea and the throbbing in his skull. But he was expecting Shiva - not Cheshire. What the hell is Cheshire doing here? She's working for Shiva now?

If his head wasn't spinning already, it would be now. He narrows his eyes at her in the dark. Batman said to let her take it - but that didn't mean he couldn't make her life difficult in the process. If he just said "Go ahead", it would probably make her suspicious.

He lets fly with a batarang, already moving to leap to a neighboring roof.

The abrupt change in posture and how quickly his head turns is an obvious proof that he hadn't been aware of her presence. The lack of a verbal response to her comment however, is somewhat disappointing. As is the glare he provides her, eyes narrowed behind his mask. Hardly intimidating, but certainly not to be underestimated ( ... )

He stops as she cuts him off, mere yards away. She's close, but not close enough for him to strike out and catch her gun arm. He fights down the rising swell of nausea at his sudden movement.

Far be it for me to disappoint.

And then he's moving again - heading for the cover of the chimney stacks to his left. He knows he can't fight her in his condition. But he's slower than usual tonight, and he knows it could cost him.
