"He's good. Outside if you want to say hello." Bruce has his arm around Dick and is smiling broadly for the cameras. Everything's great, life's great, right? "Bit surprised to see you here. Glad but surprised."

If I can get away from these people for five minutes...

He briefly wonders if it's possible to have permanent retinal damage from camera flash, before giving Bruce a significant, if fleeting, look.

Gordon told me about his break.

The smile flickers, and very little makes Bruce's smile flicker in public. "Let's not do that here," he says around his flash of teeth. "I don't want them asking questions."

And I don't really want to discuss it, he adds silently with a glance at his former ward.
