And then the transmission cut out, and was shortly replaced by a much clearer voice, less static. Shade listened with an arched brow, his expression growing less and less impressed as the speech concluded.
When it ended, he rolled his eyes. "Oh, for the love of..."
He glared at the radio, but instead of the programme continuing, he heard the announcer's shaken voice saying the station would now be reserved for emergency broadcasting.
The Shade huffed, and got to his feet. "Threatening the planet is one thing," he said darkly, as he fetched his coat, his top hat, his cane.
"Depriving me of the ending to my programme-- now, that is quite another."
