Welcome to Arcadia

Victor Zsasz, resplendent in a finely tailored black suit with solid silver cufflinks and incredibly-well polished shoes, stares blankly at the wondrous foliage growing in the Arcadia Glens arboretum, a good few miles east of Gotham. Nothing living, healthy, or vibrant in colour interests someone such as Mr. Zsasz ( Read more... )

"Mr. Zsasz." Ivy took his hand and shook it cooly. "Make it quick." She did not want this man in her greenhouse any longer than he had to be.

There were some of her plants that were very hungry, though...

No. The likes of him wasn't good enough to feed to her plants.

Besides, if she killed him, someone might actually miss him. And the last thing Ivy wanted was more men crawling around her greenhouse.

The likelihood of anyone ever *missing* Victor Zsasz are next to nil, but still...

"You might have heard that various members of our little Gotham clique, as it were, have been disappearing. I include myself in that number, as I have been incommunicado for some time now." He starts to walk alongside her. "After the Black Mask's untimely death, a new man stepped in to guide the assorted criminals and lowlifes to a... higher plane of reason. He has a plan. He wants to make it all better, you see."

There's something glazed over about Zsasz. Moreso than usual. "He needs people like you, and me, and Firefly, and others, to cleanse Gotham in a purifying light. He wants to bring about change that will benefit us all. No more Batman, no more Arkham, no more constraints except for which our God, through him, imposes."

Mr. Zsasz stops, and looks her in the eye. "Do you believe in God, Poison Ivy?"

Poison Ivy locked eyes with Zsaz. "No. I'm afraid I can't call myself one of the God-fearing sort." There have been those before that have promised the same that this man has. No more Batman, no more Arkham. None of them have succeeded. While Ivy was all for the end of Batman, she wasn't going to follow someone who would only fail in the end.

"If you were looking for a loyal follower to your 'God's' cause, than I'm afraid you're looking at the wrong greenhouse."

Zsasz would look disappointed if he hadn't expected this outcome. Still, he follows the commands he's given. This ridiculous green corpse would never have fitted in with the rest of the organisation, anyhow.

"It's a great shame, and I fear you may come to regret casting us, and our faith aside so readily." He would go for his knife, but that isn't the plan. He wonders if she's noticed him referring to 'us' instead of 'me'. No matter.

"Poison Ivy; consider this a formal, and last invitation. Join us. We will take Gotham, remove the Bat, remove the police, remove all traces of impurity and make this city our own untouchable Elysium. We will not fail. We cannot fail. This is your last warning."
