"It is a pleasure returned," Talia said, her faint accent colored her voice. A voice that lacked the warmth a normal person's might have. And replaced it with a professional curiosity. He was being evaluated right from the beginning.
Talia nodded towards the chair, he had his permission, "Crime is entirely a creation of society. As such, to those of us who see the larger picture it is merely business." Legality was annoying.
"I have indeed heard of the Secret Society," she said, back on topic. "What is your proposition?"
"We're re-purposing the organization. While it is sometimes advantageous to maintain an army of several hundred supervillains, they're difficult to control and expensive to upkeep."
No doubt she can imagine the hassles of the League of Assassins, magnified by hundreds of distinct, unstable personalities.
"We're considering reforming the Society as a smaller, elite group - and if we need mass manpower, hiring it on a per-job basis. We'd like to extend to you an invitation to join us."
