She hadn't been expecting someone, but that said nothing. She tied the robe she was wearing closed the Chinese silk was light against the skin and made her way to the door. She had no servants with her here. Even unarmed, she could take care of herself.
When she opened the door her face, normally passive actually smiled. She was almost surprised, but she had long ago learned to expect anything. No matter how remote a possibility it may be.
It was why she was still alive, "Beloved, to what do I owe this honor?"
She took it all in stride and shut and locked the door, without so much as a glance in the hallway. She knew who all was in this building. Some of them were even on her payroll.
"Of course," Talia said easily, "What about?"
She had a fair idea of what it might be, but she'd let him spell it out. And then she'd go from there once the pieces were laid out. She was not going to reveal whatever hand she had at the moment, not even to him.
A hand massages his temple as Bruce states, "I really think this is easier for you than you want it to be. So are you saying you can't find Merlyn or without a concession from me, you won't?"
To that, Bruce nods curtly. How he handles himself and speaks to other members of the Justice League, how he deals with the rest of the crimefighting community, is his business. He's not going to speak of it, not here, not now. Not with her. "If something goes wrong, if you break your word or Merlyn goes off alone... He's your responsibility now, Talia."
"He has always been my responsibility," Talia returned, "He will do what I tell him or he will be dealt with," she said simply. Though she hoped it wouldn't come to that. It would be such a waste.
"As long as you keep your part, I shall keep mine. You have my word."
