Dinner Date?

Kara, Grant and Mar'i have returned to the condo after being debriefed following the war with the replicants, and Kara finally got that shower she was after since seemingly being shot forward in time. You can build a hell of a sweat on when you jump through time ( Read more... )

"I don't know if you know her or not," Mar'i says thoughtfully, "but I figured you two should meet if you haven't already. Was there a Power Girl in your universe? Back home she was Power Woman."

Kara sits down, looking out of the massive one-way window. "I think so... But she was from another universe. Or something." Brushing back her hair she sighs, in an exaggerated fashion. "This house is just full of waifs and strays, isn't it?" She smiles at Grant. "No offense, Mr Damage."

Speak of the giant-breasted devil...

Kara Zor-L was nervous. And curious. And, admittedly, confused. Also, a little uncomfortable. Not very often did the powerful blonde wear clothes that weren't her Power Girl uniform. But here she was, dressed in a pair of jeans and a shirt that had...enough...top buttons open.

She'd brought with her a bottle of wine.

Because that's what you did, right?

After taking a deep, calming breath, she rang the doorbell.

The door opens promptly. "Hello!" Mar'i says with a smile. "Thank you so much for coming over for supper, ma'am."

Grant, who has been helping Mar'i with a few things in the kitchen while the two Kryptonians discuss the apparent peril facing Kara's virginity, returns with a large serving plate in one hand and another bottle of wine in the other.

The Titan looks down to see that Karen has already downed at least one glass - while Kara has taken an incredible small sip of her wine. Maybe they should have started her with something sweeter.

"Here we go, ladies," he says, sliding into an empty chair and retrieving his own glass. "Dolma - grape leaves stuffed with rice, onion, parsley, and a few other things. No meat. Oh, and that's some yogurt for dipping," Grant explains, gesturing at the small bowl in the center of the plate.

"Don't worry - more food is on the way." They're all super heroes, after all, and heightened metabolisms just seem to be part and parcel of the whole package.

Kara wrinkles her nose at the food initially, but gives one of the Greek delicacies a try and decides that she likes it. She avoids the yoghurt, however. "Thanks Grant. I'm not a big eater, but these taste really good."

She gives Grant a thumbs up, hoping he wasn't eavesdropping on the earlier conversation.

"Does anyone want something besides wine?" Mar'i calls out from the kitchen. "We have catawba grape juice--that's my favorite."

You're a guest. Drinking all of the wine would be bad form. And potentially a bad example for your other self. Other self? Is that the right term? Maybe it'll be easier just to think of her as a separate entity altogether?

"Actually? If it's not too much trouble, mineral water would be nice. Or, you know, even ice water. Any kind of water, really."
