... in San Francisco

Nov 28, 2008 23:27

The City by the Bay is no better off than New York or Philadelphia. Brainiac's plan with this city isn't quite so clean-cut as the prior two... Metallo and his army of replicants appear in San Francisco split into two groups, one on the Golden Gate Bridge, and the other on the shore of Alcatraz ( Read more... )

Talia had just landed in San Francisco, Merlyn, the pompous bastard had contacted her but wouldn't say why. Merely that they should meet about some information. She walked through the airport, none of her annoyance registering on her features.

What he had to say had better be wroth this annoyance.

There were other things she had to do, other places she had to be, after all. But in the games she played, information was what carried the day. She could take some time for that.

And what Talia sees is a familiar sight. Oddly familiar, at any rate. One of Batman's old sidekicks by the looks of it... The second Robin, in the airport, smashing into the off-licenses and brutalising customers. He has a knife and is about to draw it across the throat of a stewardess.

The tragic one.

What he was doing in San Francisco was anyone's guess, and Talia wasn't going to waste her time considering it. She put down her luggage calmly and then was there. While she had a fire arm (there were tricks to that) she would take this on hand to hand.

She moved quickly to disarm him, she didn't care overly about the lives of others in this situation, but this could be traced back to her Beloved, and she would not have it.

"Whatever you are doing, it will stop now."

The replicant only drags the knife halfway across the innocent lady's throat before Talia has disarmed him is holding the blade herself. It stares at her with blank eyes, and stands up straight. "Whoever you are, our quarrel is not with you. Stand aside, and watch as Jason Todd kills this woman."

An escaped prisoner from the destruction at Alcatraz, Captain Nazi calmly swam across the sea with his temporal might, and began to walk through the streets of San Francisco. He didn't care about the robots, or the heroes battling them. He wasn't going to be beaten down by some alien invasion. Now was the time for National Socialism, and all the patriotism it brings!

Standing on the Preaching Plinth in City Center, Captain Nazi clears his throat and begins to launch into a tirade to get the attention of the citizens of this no doubt fiercely Nazi city.

Captain Nazi can feel something gently touching his shoulder, as if to get attention. "Excuse me?" A mild-mannered, utterly non threatening voice asks.

His tirade interrupted, Captain Nazi whirls about face very angrily. He was halfway through the prologue of Mein Kampf, committed to his amazing memory since he was a boy. "Vhat? Vhat is it zat you vhant, American swine?!"

FIST.

"Shut up." Superman adds after the faint explosion caused the sheer force of the right hook he just threw fades. "I don't have time for your nonsense on top of everything else."

Having been flown in from Star City with the Green Arrow, Speedy didn't have much time to survey the situation. With a freshly knocked bow-taser arrow-of course, she ran to where the action was going on.

"Keep up slowpoke," she said to the person behind her, jokingly of course. "You're not that old yet."

"Now, who would you be talking to?" Flamebird, or rather, a replicant designed to look like Flamebird, has got Roy in a lock around his neck and is squeezing tightly. With its free hand it goes for a gun at its hip.

Roy sighs, and with an impressive display of his judo expertise, flips the replicant over his shoulder, and onto the ground in front of him. "Whoa." She's holding a gun and pointing it straight at Roy's face.

"Don't you dare!" Mia ran over to where the replicant was standing with a gun pointed at Roy's face. She didn't fire an arrow. She couldn't risk Roy taking a bullet in his face. But that didn't stop her from aiming an arrow at her face, "You even think about it, and I will shoot this before you can even bink." She wasn't trying to make the replicant Flamebrid shoot, but rather to distract her so that Roy could take her out.

Bursting onto the streets of San Francisco, a fifty-foot tall robot may seem, at first, to be an ally of the invading replicant forces - but that notion is quickly dispelled as the mecha begins to smash and stomp at the false heroes.

"Run, you half-organic abominations! And you're next, Metallo! A-hahahaha!"

Morrow pilots the enormous suit from within, a vodka martini in one hand, and the control stick in the other.

A monitor within the cockpit of the robot blurs, buzzes, and is then replaced with Brainiac's face. "Thomas Oscar Morrow. World class scientist and master of cybernetics. You do not wish to battle me. Turn your machine around or I will focus my attention on you."

"You already involved me when you sent your thug to try and abduct me. A fatal miscalculation. I gave my toaster a more sophisticated A.I. than yours!"

Morrow takes a long drink of his martini, and his robot exoskeleton punts another replicant towards the bay.

"I will not warn you again, human. You have made a grave error." Brainiac cuts off, communicating internally to a full quarter of the replicants in San Francisco that they are to swarm Morrow's robot. A task they begin doing almost instantly.

As if Captain Nazi and Red Panzer weren't enough, Hellhound stalks across the Golden Gate Bridge, trying to find an escape from San Francisco. He immediately regrets donning his costume as soon as he sees the congregation of heroes in attendance.

"You will be in a lot of pain, Green Arrow." One of the Mid-Nite replicants brings a knife to bear against Green Arrow, slashing at his midsection.
