At the Former "Headquarters," of Funky Flashman, Inc. (possible NWS warning)

This place is a dump, and Poison Ivy made it more of one on the way out. The register is empty. Poison Oak cover the walls and water from broken pipes still soaks the carpet in the barely sunlit store. Cheep knock off superhero memorabilia lies strewn across the floor. A lone cop stands outside the place, on guard. It's not much for the lady ( Read more... )

Ben was clad in his biohazard suit - no point in taking chances with any nasties Isley may have left behind. Vixen had got them past the cop outside with her shiny JLA badge - handy, that - and they were clear to start their investigation.

"I'll take that room there." he said, pointing to a room off the main room. "You can rip this one apart, see if she left us anything we can use, anything that'll give us some idea where she's going."

While Ben wore his biohazard suit - really difficult to admire his body while he wore that - Mari was dressed in her regular Vixen threads, utilizing her Totem to help channel powers from the animal kingdom to help stave off anything that Poison Ivy had left that could maybe harm her.

"Be careful, Tiger," Mari said, nodding. She tossed him a communication device. "It's a League device, try not to die. It's only set to my frequency, though."

Ben shot her a look - most of which was wasted by the concealing hazmat suit - and shot her a very sloppy salute. The comm went into a pocket in the hazmat suit and he picked his way around the poison oak into that side room.

Moments later, his laughter erupted from the room violently.

Mari whirled around, not even into the room where she'd been going to investigate when she'd heard Ben's laughter.

Joker gas was the first thought in her head as she ran to the room, her heart racing. The hazmat suit was supposed to protect against that.

The Hotspot was just starting to shrink into nothing, its flames growing dimmer. Pandora and Miguel had only just stepped through it, but their voices carried as if they had been having a conversation for several minutes.

"Pan, the cops are outside, NOT in here. And even if they were, they're probably too stupid to find the trap door. We're fine," he said, reaching for a manila folder.

"They might be, but we aren't," Vixen said, stepping out of the shadows and into the room. She frowns, looking between the kid and overtly curvaceous brunette bombshell dressed in a mini-skirt that was two seasons out of fashion and three sizes way too tight for the woman. Whoever she was, she definitely wasn't his mother. "Please," Vixen said, eyeing the woman. "Tell me you aren't a supervillain posing as his schoolteacher. There's too many things wrong with that."

The Bronze Tiger wasn't of much use in his bulky hazmat suit. But as these two newcomers weren't in a suit, and Mari wasn't in a suit, maybe it was time to consider ditching it.

Only problem with that is that it took just about as long to get out of as it did to get into it. So he wasn't going to be of much use.

Still, Mari could probably use the backup. "You might want to keep your hands off the merchandise, kids." he pointed out.

Mikey recognized them almost instantly. He was kind of a Super Hero Fanboy, after all. And any other time he'd probably be speechless in their presence, but right now? No, they were just going to be yet another obstacle--hopefully a non-violent one.

"Crap," was all he managed to say before Pandora spoke up.
