A Time to Heal

Jan 04, 2008 21:51

It is difficult to spiritually cleanse a room where so many souls have passed through; some have suffered before passing the veil. He pours the fresh water into his silver bowl and mixes the salt until it becomes diluted and the water clears. This is not ordinary table salt. It was mined in a very sacred place in India. It will soak in the ( Read more... )

Said subject is standing right there, however. Even the sudden disabling of portions of his emotional and psychological makeup can't alter his highest priorities.

"Bird," he says softly. "I'm not certain what I'm doing to frighten you, but if you tell me what I'm doing I'll stop."

"Oh no Grandson, you may have created them but they are mine now." The bullet hole in Trevor's forehead slowly closes over leaving no sign he'd been shot.

"You really do enjoy shooting your allies don't you?"

Trevor doesn't even have time to think about protecting himself, and is actually propelled several feet back before falling to the hardwood floor.

Unlike the normal effects of such a wound, though, Trevor rolls with the shot and executes a backward roll to his feet. The right lens of the Billy Joel glasses is shattered, the only sign that a bullet went through his head.

"Now see? This is why I was saying you all need to relax. Every time we get the red eyes you try to take my head off. Now I gotta kill you."

Trevor reaches behind him, pulling out a pair if matched ivory-handled pistols which begin belching flame constructs shaped like battering rams.

Amelia's thus far only been dragged and shoved around by Caleb, but now she ducks away from the fire. She's a little drunk. Or maybe because this is a dream, she just thinks she's drunk. Feels pretty real.

Ibn's pretty. She hopes Caleb doesn't shoot him, too.

...Wait. 'Grandson'? "I'm blaming this on you!" she tells Caleb, grabbing his arm and pulling him down the hallway they came in.

He offers no resistance to Amelia, narrowly avoiding the flaming battering rams as he follows her down the hall. He has no intention of trying to stand his ground against so many, after all.

"What, me? It's Ellie who's trying to kill us!"

They run down the hall past another visage of Ellie who licks sharp teeth in anticipation.

"Oh I'm including you in this as well Granddaughter." So lovely, so unstable, she could get to like this one.

"Wouldn't you like to get to know your family better?"

They can run... that's fine.

With little more than a flicker of green light, more of the doubles, or perhaps the same ones, appear at the other end of the hallway, and door and window after door and window turn into simple walls.

At least other than that, Travis seems content to just hover, and stare into space.

"Oh yeah, you're a winning argument for that!"

Amelia makes a stop at one of the little coffee tables spread about. She breaks off a leg for an insta-club. She's not sure what good it's going to do since Caleb's gun has no effect, but it does make her feel better.

No doors. No windows. Caged in.

FINE. She'll make a door. With the make-shift club she starts tearing away at drywall.

"It pains me to concur with Constantine," Caleb says as he covers Amelia with a clip-emptying barrage of gunfire, "But you're not worth knowing, Ellie."

"I'm crushed." The bullets slow and drop out of the air before getting close to her.

Another door opens - after it appears in a green glow. Ok, so it leads deeper into the bar somehow... not exactly an escape route. But it has to be faster than hacking away at wallboards, right?

Amelia didn't wake up yesterday. She isn't taking a bait, and yeah, hacking away at wallboards is pretty lame.

She's trying not to feel trapped and panicked. She's got one thing, one idea, and she's got to concentrate. This is her dream. She isn't going to die in her sleep.

A wall falls away like water when she puts her hand to it. HAH! She yanks Caleb along with her as she leaps through.

The Witch is waiting on the other side, each extending hallway growing dark.

The Witch is an intimidating sight, and Caleb has no intention of lingering for long. He returns Amelia's grip, and pulls her farther down the bar hallway. As he guides her towards a nearby set of stairs, Caleb notices that one of the upstairs windows hasn't disappeared yet.

"Open the window!" He yells as they approach the window, psychotic duplicates hot on their tail. At he top of the steps Caleb turns and delivers a telekinetic jab, hoping to halt their perusers long enough for Amelia to do her part.

The window glass cracks under pressure and suddenly explodes inward followed by hundreds of creeper vines. They writhe and reach out to grab Caleb and Amelia growing inch long thorns as they whip from side to side.
