It takes awhile but she does show up. It would almost be a worrisome amount of time, except for the distance, the change of location and all. There is an almost heistant expression on her face when she does show up. It doesn't seem to fit her well but she's apparently not sure that she's in the right place.

"Hello again, dear. Are you ready?"

The look is expected. After the first time the Bat caught him, he took some things to heart. Complete mental control of Alice made everything cheap.

It's vital that Ms. Kane retain her own mind. He just wants to influence it.

Bette frowns a bit, trying to remember what she should be ready for. Did she come dressed correctly?

"Good, good. You'll love where we're going, I promise you. I've got everything taken care of."

With hats come purses, and Bette gets one of those now.

"For you, with everything you need. Your ticket, a way to contact me should we be separated, and a little bit of money, just in case."

Also a calming effect. Can't have her worrying about silly things like a previous life.

He opens the car door for her in his bizarre pastiche of a gentlemanly way.

"Come along, then. Into the rabbit hole we go."
