The bell rings to announce that the Magic Hat has a customer. Not that it's seen a lack of them today. It seems that everyone who walks by it is compelled to come inside and buy a hat

First, it was 'Hey! Let's do that holiday charity tournament in Gotham!' And then it became, 'I could so some shopping for Christmas presents while I'm here.'

And then, rather strikingly it was, 'That store looks really neat. Who needs a hat?'

So, here she is. In the store, looking at hats. Someone must need some sort of funny hat.

An associate wearing a top hat moves to greet her, but stops suddenly and goes away. Tetch is coming to help her himself.

"Hello, my dear. Looking for anything in particular?"

"I don't know. I'm trying to do some Christmas shopping and I suddenly thought that maybe someone needed a hat." Bette smiles down at him. "Hats are good presents, right?"

[ten_of_six]

"I tend to think so, but then, I'm working for commission."

It's somewhat true. He gets all the money from all the sales, since they all work for free. Ah, hats...

"And perhaps we can even find one for you, as well." He leads her through the aisles, letting her find one that catches her eye.
