The streets are sparsely populated as the winter night begins to fall. Too cold for loiterers, too early for the bar scene to crowd the sidewalks.

The attack is sudden, and ruthless -- a man, dressed all in black, complete with a mask that obscures all but his eyes -- lunges from the shadows, his grip iron on the chimp's arms.

Intent on the job at hand, the assailant does not speak.

The Chimp is not as frail as his size would indicate. He uses his significant primate strength to attempt to tear away.

This neighborhood isn't the best. He's not surprised someone would try to mug him.

The fingers gripping the Chimp's arms are superhumanly strong, and tearing away from them rips his clothes and wrenches his shoulder. Still, the assailant, perhaps not compensating enough for the chimp's strength, loses his balance, causing him to fall forward, relaxing his grip enough to allow the Chimp escape.

For all that it matters. Like is comrade, another assailant appears -- identically dressed; indeed, of seeming the exact height and build -- his fist comes flying at the chimp's back: a glancing blow thqt would have connected hard had the other attacker not faltered.

"Tell us, Outsider," says the second attacker, with the trace of some indeterminate accent on his tongue. "Where is the vessel? We know you have it hidden."

Doesn't take a keen detective mind to realize this isn't a random mugging.

"Did ya try the Bat Cave?" he retorts, using his good arm to support his body while he sends a fist flying at the first assailant from his left leg.

Warriors is busy this time of evening.

Even so, when a waterlogged chimp in a coat and hat limps through the door and passes out, it's definitely noticeable.

He'd been following the Chimps psychic trail, starting from the point of transmission for his distress call, and was almost ready to call in the mystic brigade before he caught something three blocks north of Warriors.

To that end, he's maybe five seconds behind Chimp. "Oh hell." Brainwave says as he sees the Chimp on the ground.

Before anyone can say anything, Brainwave has a commlink open. "Got him. Lock and load."

And the two disappear to a secluded island base off the coast of Florida.

One arm and one leg are bent at angles they shouldn't be. His breathing is shallow and ragged. He's bleeding from his mouth and nose.

He's definitely not conscious.

Tefe should be able to fix that, one hand is on his shoulder revitalizing and healing cells and the other is on his arm.

"We need to straighten his arm and leg first, someone help me." She won't let him wake up until that's done so he won't fight them.
