Hmmmm, this put an interesting damper on their little game. And really, Roulette's people had the odds so evenly matched.

If Crane survives, Murmur may send him at least a copy of the book. So he might have creative new ways at getting back at the people that put him there.

And really, all those lovely dead celebrities between them. It'd be the gentlemanly thing to do.
