I'm called Rip Hunter. That's not my name. No one knows my true name, and I won't even record it here. Too much is at stake, and if it means I die forgotten, then so be it

"The Witch Queen was revealed to be the construct Mekanique, infused with 60th Century technology by the villain Abra Kadabra and overlayed with the psychic patterns of our Gemma, as well as other female mages. Gemma was able to tear 'her' memories from the monster, and she disappeared, seemingly destroyed."
Occult seems to contemplate that, and it's fairly obvious he disbelieves Mekanique's gone for good.
"He was in love with her," says Terrific flatly. "It came up in an old JSA case. She was destroyed last time when they betrayed each other, but for all intents and purposes, they were in love."
He looks out at the armada.
"But this isn't just retaliation. Degaton and Mekanique have had this war mapped out from the beginning. Which menas this was part of the plan."
"You're right, this isn't a coincidence. Degaton's plans -- and Mekanique's calculations -- hinged on spinning off alternate earth after alternate earth, until they 'created' one where they could rule supreme."
He lowers his head for a moment, clearly exhausted.
"The damage to the timestream has been immense, but it's not irreparable. The new realities aren't stable yet. Since The Crisis, new realities are harder to come by. Possibilities flicker and fade into Hypertime. It's the order of things. But now he's in a position to seize Vanishing Point, and from here he can enact massive, permanent change."
His fists tighten as he watches the battle.
"But if we stop him here, the lives he's lost aren't forefeit."
"We got all these brains an' mystic forces here, we ought to be able to prepare a trap for him. After all, Degaton's greatest strength is that he can be anywhere, any time... but we know for him to sieze power, eventually he has to be here, during all of this... we just got to get wherever he's going to be first, without drawing too much attention."
He's not sure who the cowboy is, but there's a lot of this whole event that he's unfamiliar with. He decides against detailing ways he might be able to remedy that scarring on his face.
"Then let's get who we need and get started, shall we?"
Mr. Terrific emerges from the light at Rip Hunter's side.
"You must be Hunter," he says. "What's the situation?"

"In the meantime... is there anything we could do with what he's after to deny him access to that power, even if he makes his way through?"
